On November 8, our country will celebrate the second anniversary of the victory of the Azerbaijani Army in the 44-day Patriotic War for the liberation of 20 percent of its territory from the Armenian occupation that lasted for nearly thirty years.
This victory demonstrated the will, determination, strength and power of our army to the whole world. The victory and the name of the Supreme Commander of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, were written in golden letters in the history of our nation. Under his command, our heroic soldiers, ensigns and officers showed unparalleled bravery in the battles for the liberation of the lands from Armenian oppression. I am sure that today we all know very well that we won the 44-day Patriotic War thanks to the UNITY of our people, the strength of the army, the skill of our soldiers, and the wise and decisive military-political and diplomatic steps of President Ilham Aliyev.
Unfortunately, for more than twenty years, the methods of political regulation have not produced any results. However, during these years, Azerbaijan, in addition to making efforts at the diplomatic level, purposefully prepared to solve the problem by military means. The enemy was confident in himself and the support of his lobbyists, he clearly ignored all documents and resolutions of international structures. In April 2016, Azerbaijan demonstrated its determination to liberate its lands from invaders. As a result of four days of fighting, our army managed to liberate some areas. At that time, for the first time after many years, the Armenian army was seriously damaged, and the myth of its invincibility was destroyed. Azerbaijani society has shown unparalleled support for the activities of the country’s leadership in the direction of the liberation of territories.
The people’s hope for the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan came true in the fall of 2020!
The Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan are the guarantors of the country’s independence and the people’s well-being: this is especially important at a time when the revanchist forces incited by the followers of Dashnak ideology and radical nationalists with the support of foreign patrons want to take place in Armenia. There have already been two such attempts, and both brave sons of Azerbaijan proved that they are ready to defend the borders of the Motherland at any time. The last time, in the battle that took place on September 12-13, our army, which prevented the next provocation of the Armenians, gave them a crushing blow. After that, until they understand that they should live in peace and tranquility with their neighbors, Armenians will receive a tougher response.
Two years have passed since the Azerbaijani Army defeated the occupying forces of Armenia and the flag of Victory, a symbol of our state’s independence, was raised in all cities of Karabakh freed from occupation.
Our tricolor flag inspired the heroic soldiers of Azerbaijan to victory over the enemy in the holy war for Karabakh and gave them moral strength.
It is natural and symbolic that on November 8 and 9, all the people of Azerbaijan will celebrate two significant events in a row: Victory Day and State Flag Day… Both holidays are celebrated as the most important events in the life of the country’s citizens.
I congratulate all our military personnel on Victory Day and wish them good health and good service!
It is an immense pride and happiness to feel like a representative of the people who were able to liberate Ordus lands from Armenian occupation!
Happy Victory Day! Let the Victory flag of Azerbaijan always fly proudly over our country!!!

Many of my business meetings and sports do not allow me to spend as much time as I want with my family. But I attach special importance to warm, close relationships with my grandchildren, I always try to find time for them. When we are united by common interests, our meetings are more useful, productive, and memorable with many happy moments. The value of such communication is immeasurable.
In this photo, we are together with my grandson. This is the first time Saeed came to the hall of “Judo Club 2012” with his grandfather, and I hope it will continue. It is evident from his mood that he likes it here very much and I am very pleased with it. I would very much like him to do this beautiful, noble sport, to be recognized, and to achieve great success. In fact, it is up to him how seriously he will practice judo and how he will choose.
I would like him to make the right choice because judo is about character, strength, courage, and nobility. We all want our grandchildren to grow up with such qualities. But in order for our dreams to come true, we grandfathers must fulfill a very important social duty: we must prepare our grandchildren for a great life. This will also be our significant contribution to the education and formation of the future generation of the country.

I congratulate you on the occasion of being awarded the title of “Honorary physical education and sportsman” in connection with the 50th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, the next high award given to your activities for the sake of Azerbaijani sports.
During your brilliant sports career, you have achieved great results on the tatami. You are multiple winners of European championships, and a silver and bronze winner of prestigious competitions such as the World Cup, “Grand Slam” and “World Master” tournaments. However, the pinnacle of your sports achievements is, without a doubt, your victory, which brought great joy to our people by winning a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics and becoming an Olympic champion.
All your achievements, high titles, and awards are the logical result of your hard work and love for judo. Undoubtedly, these have had a great impact on the popularization of judo in our country and have already helped you to continue your activity as a sportsman.
Today’s Order of Honorable President Ilham Aliyev is an expression of the value given to your services as the vice-president of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation for the sake of further strengthening the image of our homeland as a sports country.
Sincerely,

September 27 is a special day for our people. Today, we remember with deep respect our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War, waved the Azerbaijani flag on our lands freed from occupation, sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country, and all our martyrs.
They are the heroes who gave us Victory and Pride!
Still, we have sons who honorably fulfilled their duty to the Motherland and became martyrs.
The Azerbaijani Army fulfills its duty well, and today our soldiers stand guard at the borders of our Motherland. Unfortunately, the enemy is still in a revanchist mood and is creating tension on the border.
As the Honorable President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev said: “… No one and nothing can stop us. We have protected and are protecting the rights, justice, and international law, and restored our territorial integrity… We have shown the world what we are against we showed, we liberated our lands by military means…
“The martyrs live and will live forever in our hearts… They wrote their names forever in the glorious history of the Azerbaijani people.”
May God have mercy on all our martyrs!

We created “Judo Club 2012” 10 years ago, inspired by the state’s care for sports and athletes in Azerbaijan. We set a goal to serve the development and popularization of judo sport in our country, as well as to gather veteran athletes together.
Honorable President Ilham Aliyev also participated in the opening ceremony of the club. With the blessing of the head of our state, each of us – both those responsible for the club’s activities and those who work here – have taken it upon ourselves to persevere in order to achieve the goal set on our path.
Our successes increased year by year, our collection of medals and awards was enriched, and most importantly, we brought new names and promising young athletes to Azerbaijani judo. At the same time, the club literally became a hotbed for our master judokas. They prepared for the world and European championships here and returned from those prestigious competitions with victories and medals.
The club’s students were included in the national teams of different age categories, and in international competitions, they deservedly protected the sports honor of Azerbaijan, managed to raise our flag, and sing our national anthem.
In “Judo Club 2012”, hundreds of children and teenagers learn the secrets of judo and other sports under the guidance of experienced coaches and try to reach spiritual and physical perfection.
On this significant day, I sincerely congratulate those who contributed to the activities of “Judo Club 2012”, including coaches and athletes, and all the technical staff, and wish them good health and success in sports and life!
Let’s celebrate several decades together, with joy and victories!

The news and congratulations shared by the Honorable President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev today on his official Twitter page made our people happy and made us proud once again. The heroic Azerbaijani Army is in the city of Lachin, the villages of Zabukh and Sus have been taken under control!
Having lost the Patriotic War, Armenia was forced to hand over the Lachin region without a fight… It’s just that, according to the Trilateral Declaration, some areas remained under the temporary control of Russian peacekeepers. For a period of three years… the state of Azerbaijan, our honorable President, managed to complete the necessary works in less than two years. This is another indicator of our strength and determination!
We are sure that the flag of Azerbaijan will fly on all lands belonging to our people!
Long live Lachin! Long live Azerbaijan!
Thank you Mr. President!

I think lately most of my statuses are dedicated to sports events. And I’m very happy with that…
The 5th Islamic Solidarity Games, which ended in Konya, Turkey, became the next glorious page of Azerbaijani sports. Our athletes won 99 medals in competitions of various types and took 4th place among 56 countries.
The participation of Honorable President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva at the opening ceremony of the Islamic Solidarity Games and their sincere meetings with our athletes became a strong incentive for the victories won.
The Azerbaijani team won medals in 19 sports. I am especially pleased that our judokas are among the high achievers. They finished the competition with 2 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals. The most interesting and useful thing is that the Azerbaijan Judo Federation gave the promising youth of our judo in Konya an opportunity to test their strength, and they duly justified the trust.
I congratulate all our athletes who participated in Islamic Solidarity Games and succeeded! They once again proved that Azerbaijan is a sports country with their perseverance!
I wish our athletes new victories in the upcoming competitions!

Pleasant questions are coming from our athletes again, our flag is being raised in prestigious international competitions, and our anthem is being played.
In the mixed team competition at the XVI Summer Olympic Festival of European Youth held in Banska Bistritsa, Slovakia, it is a very happy event that the Azerbaijani judo team defeated the strong teams of France in the semi-finals and the strong teams of Ukraine in the final and won a gold medal, as well as 1 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals in individual competitions.
This once again confirms that the state’s care for the development of sports in our country, as well as the reforms carried out in the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, ensured the consistent nature of achievements in judo.
In other types of sports, there are also successful results that make us happy: medals won at the U-17 World Wrestling Championship in Rome, the capital of Italy, the world championship among junior taekwondo players in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, the third place of the Azerbaijani U-18 team at the European Championship of young basketball players in San Marino. The victories of “Karabakh” and “Neftchi” furball teams in European-level competitions… These increase the fame of Azerbaijan as a sports country and show the high spirit of struggle and victory of our people.
I congratulate my athletes who gave us the joy of victory, I wish them new successes and achievements!

Dear friends, dear Muslim brothers, and sisters.
Our people welcome the Eid al-Adha, which is one of the holy Islamic traditions, with pleasant feelings – the song of victory, gratitude, gratitude to our brave army and the victorious Commander-in-Chief. After nearly thirty years, our lands and holy shrines were freed from occupation.
Almost all of them were destroyed, and the traces of our people were erased from those that remained intact. However, thanks to the special attention and care of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, the doors of those mosques are opened for prayer, and the call to prayer is heard from the minarets.
Our national unity and solidarity is unshakable. The successful development of our country makes us happy.
We remember with respect the children of the motherland who were martyred in the path of truth and noble deeds. It is our duty to take care of their families, the disabled, the elderly, and war veterans.
On these blessed days, I wish God to accept your prayers and intentions, and I wish each of you happiness, prosperity, and peace!
Happy Sacrifice!

Our judokas have pleased us with their achievements in prestigious continental competitions in recent days. Our teenage boys won 2 gold and 4 bronze medals in individual competitions at the European Championship held in Poreč, Croatia, and took first place in terms of number and number of medals. 4 of our judoka girls participated in that championship and returned home with 1 gold and 1 silver medal. In the city of Poreč, our junior judokas participated in the team competition of the European championship and were awarded the bronze medal of the championship in this category.
Our athletes, who performed at the European Judo Cup among young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, returned with 1 gold and 1 silver medal.
Our national judo team was the first in the open European tournament held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Our athletes won 3 gold and 3 bronze medals in the competition. Murad Fatiyev, a student of “Judo club 2012”, is one of the owners of the gold medal. Taking first place among 33 countries at the Open European tournament is a great achievement.
I heartily congratulate our athletes who brought honor to our country with their victories, their coaches, as well as the leadership of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation!
May you have many victories and successes!
