On January 21, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF) was held: the results of 2022, and goals for 2023 were discussed.
As a member of the Executive Committee, I can confidently say that the development of judo is ensured in our country, the interest of young people in this sport is increasing, new generation athletes are growing and they are achieving success in international competitions.
Last year was successful, I believe that it will be possible to reach the set goals in 2023. Our veteran and master athletes will also contribute to the development of judo.
By the way, the “Judo Club 2012” sports club concluded the last year with good results and started the new year with great hopes. Two well-known judokas, members of the national team – Said Mollayi and Zelim Kotsoyev, who started cooperating with our club in the past, please us with their successful performances. We hope that they will get a license for the next Olympic Games.
Mehdi Jafarov, one of our club’s students, took first place in the European judo cup tournament and was awarded a gold medal for us. So, our new Olympic hopes are growing…
Azerbaijani judo is developing dynamically, and we should try to increase the number of our victories every year.
I wish health and success to every member of the judo family in 2023!
